Weekend at Trevose in the Mail on Sunday - Saturday, 4 July (5th Round)
The first day of a busy weekend for the Bude Ladies and a fifth round away draw against Trevose. As was to be the trend for the weekend an exciting match saw the result hinge on the final putt on the 18th. Unfortunately the ladies superb run in this competition was halted with a 3-2 result going Trevose's way.
22 Holes! Gammon - Sunday, 5 July (3rd Round)
With afternoon tee times booked ,this time Bude Ladies travelled back down to Trevose for this third round match against Newquay. With the disappointment of Saturday fading this was to prove an equally exciting encounter. Bude went into a 3-0 lead and expectations were high. With each game playing to a conclusion Paula Atkinson was all square on the 18th and so she moved onto her 19th hole. By this point all the other games had gone Newquay's way and a large crowd of spectators followed the deciding game from the 19th to an eventual outcome on the 22nd hole! It had been a long exciting afternoon but once again Bude were pipped at the final hurdle, losing 3-4 to Newquay. Well done to all the girls who played in both teams!
