Bude brothers picked for South West Week
Following great performances during Cornwall County Week bothers, Ryan and Adam Curtis were named in the 10 man team to represent Cornwall against Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire, Gloucester and Somerset at Bristol & Clifton Golf Club in June. Adam, pictured with his trophy, carded a 68 in the morning and followed it with a 69 in the afternoon for a five under par total of 137 in the 36 hole Scratch County Championship Qualifier and has been cut to an impressive handicap of +3.
A Bude one, two and three in the Jamieson Challenge Trophy (Sat 23 May)
Congratulations go to Jim Ryan for capturing the Jamieson Challenge Trophy with a fantastic score of 41 points. Ryan, playing off a nine handicap, put together his score with halves of 21 and 20 points comprising of four gross birdies, seven pars and just the one double bogey as he comfortably won the competition. 13 year old Bude youngster Harry Macauley impressed with his second place on 38 points and indicated he is likely to be one to watch in the future. Third place was secured by Bude's David Congdon also on 38 points. Following a rich vein of form Bude & North Cornwall members will be glad to hear that Jim has now be cut to a seven handicap.
A Successful Spring 3BBB Open for Bude trio
Steve Bowman, Graham Stokes and Bill Gibson picked up a very close run Bude & North Cornwall Spring 3BBB Open with a great score of 84 points on count back from the Lanhydrock Golf Club trio of R. Capewell, D. Phillips and R. Dart. Dispite a misty wet start to the day the event was extremely well attended with 24 Teams. Third place went to the Bude team of Tom Murray, Kelvin Edwards and Phil Leighton.
Summer Matchplay Competitions
The draws for the Mens' Summer Matchplay competitions have been made and are displayed on the notice board in the gents' locker room.
