Welcome to another edition of the weekly pro shop newsletter from Bude.

Bring and buy second hand clubs at Bude...

If you are looking for a certain second hand club, or if you have clubs collecting dust in the garage we may be able to match up buyers with sellers. So let me know what you after or what you have to sell and I will try to help. Wanted:

• Ladies graphite 5-wood or 7-wood with oversized head.
• Ladies sets of graphite irons that would suitable to be used by junior golfers (Not pink or lilac in colour please).

We are also short on practice balls so if you have any old ones lying around please drop them into the golf shop.

President's Day - Saturday, 9 September

We still have a few spaces available for Saturday and our Club President, Jim Ryan has very kindly put up a prize fund of £600 with a first prize worth over £100. We have categories for the ladies, juniors, seniors and men's sections so please add your name to the start sheet and support his day.

Cross Country Success

The last Captain's Night of the season was won by Lawrie Bridges on a very interesting cross country design where a nine hole course was made from the standard 18. Lawrie said "this is the most fun I've had on a golf course for quite a while". It seemed as if everyone enjoyed the event as a change from the norm so we will be planning another cross country golf challenge over the winter.

Players are needed for the Cornish Bowl team so if you wish to play can you contact the golf shop ASAP. Details are as follows:

Ryder Cup - Saturday, 2 September

Well its another year and another loss for the Pro's Team. I was hoping for it to be third time lucky this year, but my team were convincingly beaten 9.5 points to 3.5 by the Captain's side. The scoring was amazing with Collet Burgess and Kay Dinsdale winning the pairs betterball with 48 points leaving Captain (Adrian) and Vice Captain (Dave Simmons) in second place on 45.

Senior Men's Stableford - Friday, 1 September

First place - David Latter (42), second place - Llew Courtenay (41), third place - Alan Harris (39), fourth place - Dennis Jeffery (38) and in fifth place - Paddy Deely (36).
