Captain's Night
A very blustery evening saw a reduced field of 15 players battle the elements. We played an individual stableford with double points on the par fives. Results were as follows:
First place - Dave Simmons, second place - Adam Curtis and in third place - James Rowland.

It was an early, wet and windy start for me getting caught in a down poor at 6:15 am whilst putting out the nearest the pin markers, but as soon that passed the weather behaved itself for rest of the day. The first tee time was 7:20am which lead a fantastic field of nearly 130 players all the way to the final time at 2pm. The competitors took on some challenging conditions along with a few interesting pin positions which made scoring pretty tough, so the free alcoholic beverage, provided by St Austell Breweries, between the 6th tee and the 18th green was probably well earned!
The best score on the day was 41 stableford points returned by Kelvin Davis which earned him the winning voucher and the Captain's Day trophy. Special thanks go out to Jill and Margaret for looking after the registration desk and selling the raffle tickets. Full results were as follows:

Bude ladies beat Perranporth at home on Sunday, 26 June in the sixth round of the Ladies Mail on Sunday (4.5 - 0.5). Team - Collette Burgess, Georgia Price, Hana Dabrowski, Jean Reed and Kay Dinsdale. Many thanks to the caddies and supporters. Well done and good luck in the next round.
